Trying to pursue a nursing career?

I am a nursing major and i go to a community college. i started taking my pre reqs for their nursing program and i realized my gpa isnt high enough to even get in. and the same goes for the program at universities. it seems everyone wants to be in the medical field so it just keeps getting more competitive every year. i was thinking in going to a tech school and getting my lpn and then bridging to RN. does that sound like a good idea? if not what else should i do? because my dad seems to be thinking i am going backwards and that tech schools or for people who want to be in college. idk what to do, because i don't really see a better option
