What is the best place on the High Street to get digital photographs printed?

I recently used Snappy Snaps (because it is near) and the results were poor, they made everything too contrasty and the colours were off, nothing like the original image. They did them again free of charge, but still the results were a bit pony, maybe their printer isn't very good, maybe the staff arn't very good. Can anyone recommend to me a decent high street print shop with excellent results?
