T. jones on from G's to Gents Reunion?

Ok wasn't he in the final 5 on the show and got eliminated b/c he really didn;t need the money b/c the other 4 had kids? I don't get why they showed him getting eliminated like one of the first to go and because he made excuses? I only watched the show from the final 6 to the ending...
