Does anyone have experience with knee injuries?

Hi everyone. I am asking this question because I just hurt my knee the other night. I won't be able to see a specialist atleastr until Monday morning. Oh, and I have no insurance...sweet!!!! O.k, I went to the e.r. and was told I would need an mri, but was released with a brace, crutches and a pain script. I have never hurt my knees bad, but this feels like there is something really wrong. When it first happened I was a little drunk and was working on adrenoline, so I still tried to run on it and I almost fell on my face. It was wierd, it felt like my kneecap was just drooping down to my shinn. Every time I took a step I felt this strange feeling. It has been pretty swallen since. I feel the most pain right above my kneecap when my leg bends just the slightest. The pain is an excruciating burning....and I mean burning like I have never felt in my life. The rest of my knee is sore, but there is deff. something wrong with the top of my knee cap. The few times I accidentaly bent my knee it felt like something coming apart, along with the intense burning. A disgusting feeling. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Does anyone know what this may be? Any info would be appreciated, thanks!
