If a drone pilot gets a paper cut on duty does he get a purple heart?

I had a 1LT that belonged to the good old boy group in the FL ARNG and he got a Purple Heart for tripping and falling and cutting himself on some barbed wired during a mortar attack on base. They made his citation sound like he was a hero that fought off the insurgents single handedly.
